Tesla Loses Majority Share in California’s Electric Vehicle Market

Tesla Inc. no longer dominates the majority of new electric car sales in California, which represents nearly one-third of all zero-emission vehicle purchases in the US. In the first quarter, Tesla’s share of EV sales in the state dropped to 43.9%, compared to 55.5% the previous year, according to the California New Car Dealers Association. While Tesla registrations fell by 15%, sales of other EVs surged by 35% during the same period.
