Tesla recalls all Cybertrucks due to faulty adhesive on steel panels

Tesla has initiated a recall for all 46,100 Cybertrucks sold due to an issue with the adhesive used to attach stainless steel panels. The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is overseeing this recall, which affects all 2024 and 2025 model years manufactured between November 13, 2023, and February 27, 2025. A report from the NHTSA indicates that an exterior panel along the windscreen sides can detach while driving, posing a hazard. The remedy involves using a more durable adhesive and additional reinforcements. Tesla will replace the panel free of charge, with owner notification letters expected to be sent on May 19. This marks the eighth recall for the Cybertruck in 15 months. Videos of people manually removing these panels have gone viral on social media. Despite no reported injuries, Tesla facilities and vehicles have been targeted by protests. — news from The Independent
