Warner Bros. Discovery Turns $677M DTC Profit for 2024, Streaming Subs Grow to 116.9M

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), under CEO David Zaslav, reported 116.9 million global streaming subscribers by the end of 2024, up from 110.5 million in September. The company’s direct-to-consumer (DTC) segment, including Max and Discovery+, achieved a $409 million quarterly profit, contrasting with a $55 million loss the previous year. For the full year, the DTC business earned $677 million, significantly higher than the $103 million profit in 2023. WBD aims for 150 million subscribers by the end of 2026, with a focus on sustainable profitability.
