Xiaomi is set to officially unveil the YU7 this Thursday, marking a significant step in its electric vehicle lineup. The YU7, Xiaomi’s first electric SUV, has the potential to reshape China’s electric SUV market. In April, Xiaomi EV delivered over 28,000 units, marking the seventh consecutive month with deliveries exceeding 20,000 units. Xiaomi EV announced on Weibo that the YU7 will be unveiled at Xiaomi’s strategic new product launch event on May 22, starting at 7 pm Beijing time. The event will also showcase Xiaomi’s first mobile SoC, the Xring O1, the Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphone, and the Xiaomi 7 Ultra tablet. Xiaomi officially launched its first model, the SU7, an electric sedan competing with Tesla’s Model 3, on March 28, 2024. Following public pressure after an SU7 crash in late March, the company faces challenges in maintaining its reputation.
