The Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) will be closed on Juneteenth, June 19, but claimants can still access online resources to manage their unemployment claims. Filing and certifying claims online through the Michigan Web Account Manager (MiWAM) is the fastest way to handle unemployment-related tasks. MiWAM is available 24/7, allowing users to file claims, certify work searches, and access helpful guides like the UIA Claimant Roadmap.
During the holiday, claimants won’t be able to use the Michigan Automated Voice Interactive Network (MARVIN) to certify work searches, but it will be operational again on June 20. Due to the holiday, there may be slight delays in benefit payments to bank accounts or U.S. Bank debit cards.
Claimants can also schedule appointments, attend online coaching sessions, and find answers to FAQs on the UIA website. Resources include instructional videos, toolkits, and the UIA Economic Dashboard, which tracks unemployment trends. For additional assistance, claimants can chat with UIA representatives or use the agency’s chatbot for quick answers.
