Adidas Warns of Price Hikes for Trainers Due to US Tariffs

Adidas has announced that prices for its popular trainers, including the Gazelle and Samba, will increase due to tariffs imposed by the US. Chief executive Bjorn Gulden stated that since Adidas cannot produce most of its products in the US, higher tariffs will lead to increased costs for the US market. Clothing manufacturers sourcing labor from countries like China and Vietnam are heavily impacted by these tariffs. Although Adidas did not specify the extent of price increases, it noted that the ongoing trade war has halted its financial outlook upgrades. Adidas has attempted to mitigate tariff impacts by exporting more products to the US before tariffs took effect and rerouting Chinese-made goods to other markets. Despite these measures, uncertainty remains regarding future negotiations and final tariff rates.
