AvKare Recalls Over-the-Counter Eye Drops Following FDA Audit

Pharmaceutical company AvKare has initiated a voluntary recall of several over-the-counter eye care products due to “deviations” uncovered during a recent Food and Drug Administration audit. According to AvKare, the potential health risks to users remain unclear, but the deviations could compromise product quality. Issues may range from packaging flaws to manufacturing errors, though AvKare has not disclosed specific details. The recall affects five products, including lubricant eye drops and gels, which were shipped between May 26, 2023, and April 21, 2025. Affected consumers are advised to stop using these products immediately and may be eligible for refunds, including shipping costs. Neither AvKare nor the FDA has commented further on the matter.
