Big Lots Reopening: List of Stores Set to Reopen in May, Including Locations in Alabama

Big Lots, the discount store that previously shut down, is making a comeback with new ownership from Variety Wholesalers. The company plans to reopen up to 219 locations across the United States in four phases throughout May and June. Customers can expect remodeled stores, closeout deals, and fresh merchandise.

Lisa Seigies, president and CEO of Variety Wholesalers, expressed excitement about reviving the Big Lots brand, promising more deals, well-known brands, and a new family apparel department. She noted that while stores may not be perfect initially, they will progressively improve leading up to a grand opening celebration in the fall.

The first wave of reopenings includes locations in Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Following this, additional stores in Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia will open on May 1 and May 15.

Alabama locations set to reopen include Mobile, Athens, Decatur, Dothan, Guntersville, Cullman, Northport, and Jasper. Further details on specific addresses are available.
