Private islands often come with logistical challenges, such as transporting family, guests, and supplies between the mainland and the island. Greg Jensen, co-chief investment officer of Bridgewater Associates, is selling Rogers Island off the coast of Connecticut for $30 million, marking a $5 million reduction from its initial listing price last year. The property includes a five-bedroom home on the mainland equipped with a private dock, offering a convenient access point to the island. Leslie McElwreath of Sotheby’s, who is handling the listing with colleague Joseph Barbieri, noted that this setup provides a seamless transition to the island. While the Thimble Islands are usually served by a public ferry making multiple stops, the new owner of Rogers Island will enjoy direct access. The island features multiple houses, a pool, a tennis court, and a putting green designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus. Property records indicate Jensen purchased Rogers Island in 2018 for $21.5 million.
