Chairman of Shura Council’s Utilities Committee: Logistics Strategy is a Pillar of Economic Recovery Plan

Dr. Mohamed Ali Hassan, Chairman of the Utilities and Environment Committee of the Shura Council, praised the launch of Bahrain’s logistics services strategy as a key component of the economic recovery plan. This strategy aims to enhance Bahrain’s competitive position as an ideal logistics hub through various projects, initiatives, and incentives that attract capital and major logistics companies. The strategy aligns with the vision of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the economic recovery plan announced by Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. It seeks to increase the logistics sector’s contribution to GDP by 10% by 2030. Hassan highlighted the role of the committee responsible for developing the logistics sector’s infrastructure, improving efficiency, and launching advanced electronic systems for managing logistics facilities. He also noted the benefits of the new air cargo zone at Bahrain International Airport and partnerships with major logistics companies. The strategy also focuses on enhancing Khalifa bin Salman Port and customs initiatives, including electronic projects like the ‘Single Window’ system and collaboration with Saudi Arabia’s ‘Fasah’ platform.
