Chinese Vice Premier to Attend 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

BEIJING, June 17 (Xinhua) — Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang will attend the 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in Russia from June 19 to 21, announced the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday. Ding, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, was invited by the Russian Federation government, according to Guo Jiakun, spokesperson for the ministry, during a routine press conference. The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is a key platform for discussing global economic governance and fostering international cooperation. This year’s edition, themed “Shared Values: The Foundation of Growth in a Multipolar World,” will explore effective approaches to addressing global challenges, said Guo. Ding will participate in forum activities and meet with relevant Russian leaders. China aims to strengthen communication and exchanges with all parties, consolidate cooperation consensus, promote shared human values, and foster an equitable multipolar world and universally beneficial economic globalization, injecting momentum into global governance and promoting worldwide development and prosperity, the spokesperson noted. China is also willing to work with Russia to implement key consensuses reached by the two heads of state, deepen comprehensive practical cooperation, and advance the new-era comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Russia, added Guo.
