KUWAIT, Aug 18 (KUNA) — The Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) has signed a contract with Future Integrated Technologies for Communications Equipment Company to deploy the Automated Spectrum Monitoring and Analysis System, a nationwide initiative designed to modernize radio frequency oversight in Kuwait.
The project underscores CITRA’s dedication to maintaining strict oversight across all radio frequency bands, accurately detecting unauthorized transmissions, and identifying sources of harmful interference. This will ensure spectrum resources are used efficiently, in alignment with international standards and global regulatory trends.
Key goals of the initiative include improving telecommunications service quality through consistent field assessments and advanced performance metrics, as well as enabling real-time monitoring to allow rapid responses to violations.
The framework also aims to boost regulatory enforcement and adherence to licensing terms, safeguarding the long-term viability of spectrum assets. It involves setting up a centralized control hub, fixed and mobile monitoring units, portable detection devices, and tools for evaluating network performance. Coverage will extend across all residential zones and border regions, ensuring nationwide surveillance.
