Delta and Korean Air have agreed to invest in Canada’s WestJet, with Delta acquiring a 15% stake for $330 million and Korean Air securing a 10% interest for $220 million. This move strengthens their presence in the North American market. Delta also plans to sell a 2.3% stake in WestJet to its joint venture partner, Air France-KLM, for $50 million. WestJet will remain owned and controlled by Onex. These partnerships come amid a decline in U.S.-bound bookings for Canadian airlines following President Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canada. Delta’s shares were up about 1% in pre-market trading. — new from Reuters
