Disney’s Streaming Services Show Strong Growth

Disney’s streaming services, including Disney Plus and Hulu, have shown significant growth in profitability. In the second fiscal quarter, the combined operating income rose to $336 million, compared to $47 million in the same period last year. Disney Plus gained 1 million subscribers in the US and Canada, reaching a total of 57.8 million. These improvements come after Disney increased prices and implemented measures against password sharing. Additionally, Disney Plus is preparing for the launch of a standalone ESPN streaming service later this year. — new from The Verge
