He clarified that revenues from the transaction will go to the New Urban Communities Authority, with any surplus funds channeled into the state’s general budget. The inflow of foreign currency, he noted, is expected to positively impact the exchange rate and strengthen the country’s foreign exchange reserves.
Fouad also mentioned that Egypt anticipates further financial disbursements from the International Monetary Fund in the coming period. He expressed no concerns about selling land to foreign investors, provided such transactions contribute to economic stability and generate employment. “Investors feel more secure when they own the land outright,” he remarked, while noting that usufruct rights may be more practical in industrial projects.
He concluded by emphasizing that relying on investment returns and rent-like revenues is a normal phase in economic development, as long as these funds are reinvested into sustainable development and productive sectors.
