Economic Expert: Egypt Poised to Become a Global Hub for Clean Energy

Dr. Diaa Helmy, a member of the Economic Committee of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs, stated that the project to establish an integrated industrial complex for manufacturing solar energy components within the Ain Sokhna industrial zone, part of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, is of great importance and significance, especially amid current global changes.

Helmy explained during a phone interview on the program “Behind the Event” that Egypt possesses all the necessary qualifications to become a regional and global hub for new and renewable energy, including green and clean energy. He noted that the Suez Canal Economic Zone boasts vast areas and advanced infrastructure, making it an ideal environment for localizing this strategic industry.

He added that there is significant confidence from the international community, particularly Europe, in Egypt’s human and technical capabilities, reflecting the governmental interest, led by the Prime Minister, in sending positive and renewed messages to foreign partners affirming Egypt’s progress in developing its international renewable energy center.

Helmy concluded by emphasizing that Egypt is witnessing a genuine shift towards green industries, supported by strong infrastructure and qualified human resources, aligning with current stage requirements and global market needs.
