Dr. Sayed Abdel Aziz, a member of the Egyptian Economic Association, emphasized that the principle of equal opportunity between men and women supersedes outdated notions of equality that have historically led to social tensions. He advocated for a merit-based approach, where advancement depends on competence and experience, noting that Egypt has long been a regional leader in women’s empowerment, dating back to 1919 and earlier.
Speaking on the program “Al-Iqtisad wal Nase” (The Economy and the People), Abdel Aziz highlighted that current efforts to empower women in Egypt are anchored in a comprehensive enlightenment strategy launched in 2017—designated by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi as the “Year of the Woman.” This strategy spans four pillars: social, geographic, educational, and economic dimensions, and is aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
He stressed that Egypt’s new republic has integrated 12 provisions from the 1995 Beijing Declaration—adopted by 189 countries worldwide—into its national empowerment framework. This integration is paired with a strategic reallocation of economic resources, recognizing both women and men as fundamental components of human capital and essential contributors to sustainable development.

قال د. سيد عبد العزيز عضو الجمعية المصرية للاقتصاد السياسي إن الحديث عن تكافؤ الفرص بين الرجل والمرأة يلغي فكرة المساواة التي تسببت في مشكلات عبر التاريخ، لنصل إلى مفهوم الكفاءةوأيهما يملك الكفاءة والخبرة ليتقدم ويستحق التمكين، على خلفية أن مصر تُعَدُّ الدولة الرائدة في تمكين المرأة منذ عام 1919 وما قبلها. n nوأشار عبد العزيز في لقاء له مع برنامج (الاقتصاد والناس) إلى أن الحديث عن تمكين المرأة في مصر خلال الوقت الحاضر يستدعي وجود استراتيجية تنويرية في الجمهورية الجديدة منذ عام 2017 الذي أسماه السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي “عام المرأة” على أربعة محاور للمستوى الاجتماعي والجغرافي والتعليمي والاقتصادي، وربطها باستراتيجية 2030. n nوأكد عضو الجمعية المصرية للاقتصاد السياسي أن الجمهورية الجديدة في مصر قامت بتضمين 12 بندًا وردت في إعلان بكين عام 1995 وباعتماد 189 دولة حول العالم داخل الإستراتيجية التنويرية لتمكين المرأة، مع إعادة ترتيب الموارد الاقتصادية للدولة، ودور المرأة والرجل معًا باعتبارهما أساس العنصر الإنساني في الموارد البشرية وإسهاماتهما في التنمية المستدامة. n nيُعرض برنامج (الاقتصاد والناس) من الأحد إلى الخميس الخامسة والنصف مساءً على شاشة القناة الثانية، ويقدمه محمد البيطار.
