The partnership between the New Urban Communities Authority and Qatari Diar Real Estate Company to develop a comprehensive tourism project across approximately 4,900 acres with investments reaching $29 billion marks a pivotal shift in Egypt’s real estate and tourism investment landscape. According to El-Sayed, the initiative will bring direct dollar inflows, support the balance of payments, and help narrow the financing gap affecting the national economy.
The project aims to transform underutilized land into high-yield productive assets. It is also expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities in construction, hospitality, transportation, and services—contributing positively to economic expansion and living standards.
El-Sayed highlighted that developments like Alem El Rom and other large-scale projects along the North Coast, such as Ras El Hekma, are set to revitalize tourism and attract investment from both Gulf and European sources. This aligns with the government’s strategy to establish year-round tourist cities rather than seasonal summer destinations, supporting Egypt’s Vision 2030 goal of welcoming 30 million visitors annually.
He stressed that such initiatives represent strategic economic alliances that strengthen inter-Arab cooperation and affirm Egypt’s role as a regional hub for major investments—bolstering economic stability and enhancing the country’s position in regional and global development frameworks.

خبير اقتصادي: صفقة «علم الروم» نقلة نوعية في ملف الاستيثمار السياحي
أكد الدكتور عبد المنعم السيد، مدير مركز القاهرة للدراسات الاقتصادية والاستراتيجية، أن صفقة تطوير منطقة علم الروم في محافظة مطروح تمثل احدى الاتفاقيات الاستيثمارية الأهم اثناء السنين الأخيرة، مشيرًا إلى أنها تعكس الاثقان المتزائد في الاقتصاد المصري وقدرته على جذب رؤوس الأموال العربية والأجنبية، استعادة من الشركاء الخليجية.
تدفق نقدي مباشر بالدولار وتحسين ميزان المدفوعات
وأوضح «السيد» في تصريحات ل«الوطن» أن اتفاق الشركة بين هيئة المجتمعات العمرانية الجديدة وشركة الديار القطرية، لتنفيذ مشروع سياحي مكتمل على مساحة تقارب من 4900 فدان باستثمارات تصل إلى 29 مليار دولاراً، يمثل نقلة نوعية في ملف الاستيثمار العقاري والسياحي بمصر، لافتًا أن المشروع سي@سهم في تدفق نقدي مباشر بالدولار وتحسين ميزان المدفوعات، إلى الإضافة عن الفجوة التمويلية التي يعاني منه الاقتصاد.

وأضاف أن المشروع سيعمل على تحويل الأراضي غير المستغلة إلى أصول انتاجية ذات عائد مرتفع، فضلًا عن خلق الألفاف من الفرص المباشرة والغير المباشرة في قطاع البناء والخدمات والضيافة والنقل، ما ينعكس إيجابياً على النمو الاقتصادي ومستوى المعيشة.
وأشار إلى أن مشروع علم الروم، وغيره من المشروعات العظيمة بالساحل الشمالي مثل رأس الحكمة، سيسهم في تنشيط السياحة وجذب الاستثمارات الخليجية والأوروبية، خاصة مع توجه الدولة نحو إقامة مدن سياحية مكتملة تعمل على مدار السنة، وليس فقط في موسم الصيف، بما يدعم تحقيق أهداف روية مصر 2030 للوصول إلى عدد سائح بلغ من السائحين سنوياً.
وأكد «السيد» أن هذا النوع من المشروعات يمثل تحالفاً اقتصاديا استراتيجيا يعزز التعاون العربي المشترك، ويأكد أن مصر أصبحت مركزا إقليميا لجذب الاستثمارات الكبيرة، بما يدعم استقرار الاقتصاد ويعزز مكان الدولة في خريطة التنمية الإقليمية والدولية.
