According to Gab Allah, during a recent phone interview, these positive developments were not unexpected for experts, as signs of recovery became evident following the announcement of the Ras El-Hekma deal and subsequent corrective measures.
He noted that Egypt’s economy no longer relies on exceptional programs to encourage financial inflows, such as past campaigns related to military service resolution or vehicle imports for expatriates, which were crucial in earlier phases.
Currently, the primary motivation for Egyptians abroad is the economic improvement itself, marked by:
– Higher growth rates.
– Stabilization of economic indicators.
– Elimination of the parallel foreign exchange market.
These combined factors have created a sense of security and reliability, encouraging more funds to flow through official channels instead of informal alternatives.
Gab Allah also highlighted that the decision to unify the exchange rate and enhance banking sector flexibility in dollar pricing has restored full trust in the banking system. As a result, banks now receive all remittances without individuals needing to resort to unofficial methods.
He concluded by affirming that the natural increase in remittances, aligned with economic recovery, is highly positive at this stage and indicates the sustainability of the desired economic improvement.
