Economic Transformation and Growth in Egypt Following June 30 Revolution

Dr. Sherif Haidar, an economic expert, emphasized the significant economic transformation Egypt has undergone in recent years, attributing much of this progress to the June 30 revolution. He explained that prior to this turning point, there was a deliberate plan by the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood group to turn Egypt into a dependent state, reliant on importing essential goods from abroad to maximize their profit margins through large-scale commercial activities.

At the same time, the group allegedly worked to undermine the national economy by disrupting both private and public factories and companies. This was reportedly done through sleeper cells embedded within these institutions, which organized frequent protests under the guise of labor rights advocacy, but with the hidden agenda of halting production and damaging the industrial base. One notable example cited was Ceramica Cleopatra, owned by businessman and former parliamentarian Mohamed Abolenein, who faced targeted actions due to his political stance against the group.

Following the June 30 revolution and the removal of the Muslim Brotherhood from power, Egypt saw a resurgence in economic stability and development. Under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the country has achieved what many once considered impossible, opening numerous large-scale factories and companies across various sectors, promoting the “Made in Egypt” brand globally.

Egypt has successfully restored its leadership role in the Arab, Islamic, African, and Middle Eastern regions. Record-breaking export figures, particularly to African countries, demonstrate Egypt’s strong return to global economic competition. Additionally, the country has attracted significant foreign and regional investments, thanks to improved security, political stability, and dedicated government efforts to meet the aspirations of the Egyptian people.
