At the start of his visit to Berlin, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, participated on Monday in a business forum attended by chairpersons of leading German companies. The event was jointly organized by the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) and the Federation of German Industries (BDI), focusing on enhancing economic and commercial ties between Egypt and Germany.
According to Ahmed Tarek, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Abdelatty emphasized Egypt’s commitment to deepening its economic partnership with Germany. He highlighted the private sector’s critical role in advancing bilateral investment and trade, and outlined ongoing efforts to empower local businesses and improve the investment climate.
The minister noted that the Egyptian government continues to implement broad reforms aimed at boosting economic activity, upgrading infrastructure, and creating favorable conditions for foreign capital. He reiterated the state’s intention to strengthen the private sector’s role in driving economic expansion and affirmed continued progress on the State Ownership Policy document, which aims to expand private participation in strategic industries.
Abdelatty added that Egypt is taking concrete steps to streamline administrative procedures and enhance its legal and tax frameworks. This includes launching the first phase of tax relief measures and supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as startups. He pointed to active initiatives to promote investment in clean energy, industrial localization, digital transformation, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and information and communications technology, all supported by targeted incentives.
He also presented investment opportunities in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, positioning it as a strategic hub for global firms due to its advantageous geographic location and direct access to regional and international markets. He cited recent government reforms that have contributed to currency market stability, growth in foreign exchange reserves, a notable decline in inflation, and the return of positive economic growth.
Discussions during the meeting explored ways to broaden bilateral economic relations, reflecting shared ambitions to deepen cooperation, encourage mutual investment, achieve sustainable development, and identify new areas for collaboration based on the wide range of opportunities available to both nations.

وقال السفير تميم خلاف، المتحدث الرسمي باسم وزارة الخارجية، إن الوزير عبد العاطي أكد خلال اللقاء حرص مصر على تعزيز الشراكة الاقتصادية مع ألمانيا، مبرزاً الدور الهام للقطاع الخاص في الارتقاء بالتعاون الاقتصادي والاستثماري بين البلدين، مستعرضاً الجهود الجارية لتمكين القطاع الخاص وتحسين بيئة الاستثمار.
وأشار الوزير إلى مواصلة الحكومة المصرية تنفيذ إصلاحات واسعة لدعم النشاط الاقتصادي، وتطوير البنية التحتية، وتوفير الظروف المناسبة لجذب الاستثمارات الأجنبية، مؤكداً حرص الدولة على تعزيز دور القطاع الخاص في قيادة النمو الاقتصادي، ومواصلة تنفيذ وثيقة سياسة ملكية الدولة، التي تستهدف تعزيز دور القطاع الخاص في الاستثمار، إلى جانب توسيع الشراكة مع القطاع الخاص في عدد من القطاعات الحيوية.
وأضاف عبد العاطي أن الدولة المصرية تتخذ خطوات جادة لتبسيط الإجراءات وتحسين الإطارين القانوني والضريبي، بما في ذلك إطلاق المرحلة الأولى من التسهيلات الضريبية، ودعم المشروعات الصغيرة والمتوسطة والشركات الناشئة، مشيراً إلى الجهود الجارية لتعزيز الاستثمار في مجالات الطاقة النظيفة، وتوطين الصناعة، والتحول الرقمي، والصناعات الدوائية، وتكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات، مع توفير حوافز متعددة في هذه القطاعات.
كما استعرض الوزير الفرص الاستثمارية في المنطقة الاقتصادية لقناة السويس، التي تمثل منصة استراتيجية للشركات العالمية، بما توفره من موقع متميز واتصال مباشر بالأسواق الإقليمية والعالمية، مبرزاً الإصلاحات التي اتخذتها الحكومة والتي أسهمت في استقرار سوق الصرف، وزيادة الاحتياطي من النقد الأجنبي، والتراجع الملحوظ في معدلات التضخم، وعودة النمو الاقتصادي إلى مساره الإيجابي.
وتم خلال الاجتماع مناقشة سبل فتح آفاق أوسع للعلاقات الاقتصادية الثنائية، في إطار السعي المشترك لتعزيز التعاون الاقتصادي، والاستثمار المتبادل، والنمو المستدام، واستكشاف مسارات تعاون جديدة على ضوء الفرص المتعددة المتاحة بين البلدين الصديقين.
