The Future of Egypt Authority has acquired approximately 89.66% of the capital in Al Arabiya Company for Land Reclamation, in a transaction executed on the Egyptian Exchange, resulting in the exit of the Holding Company for Land Reclamation. The deal, finalized on August 18, 2025, involved 4.662 million shares traded through the block trading mechanism, amounting to EGP 23.311 million.
Manal Allah Mohamed Khalid, financial analyst at Misr Extrior, stated that the acquisition marks a strategic shift in Egypt’s agricultural sector, with plans underway for a comprehensive restructuring to enhance operational efficiency and position Al Arabiya as a key developmental arm. Central to the modernization strategy is the integration of agricultural mechanization, aimed at boosting productivity and reducing per-fadden costs—a model the authority intends to replicate across other agricultural enterprises.
The authority also plans substantial investments to expand cultivated land and strengthen food security, alongside forging partnerships with leading agri-tech firms to implement smart farming technologies. Following the acquisition, Al Arabiya aims to evolve into a regional hub for land reclamation expertise, operating at the nominal share value set on the exchange.
Murad Lotfi, Deputy Head of Institutional Management at Arabia Online Financial, noted that the move is expected to enhance value across integrated production chains—from farming to processing—while generating new employment opportunities and training programs in advanced mechanized agriculture. He emphasized that the authority’s holistic strategy, spanning land reclamation to building a modern agricultural economy, aligns with national mega-projects in the sector.
EFG Hermes oversaw the share transfer process on the Egyptian Exchange. Meanwhile, Al Arabiya’s ordinary general assembly approved the estimated budget for the upcoming 2025–2026 fiscal year, projecting a post-tax net profit of EGP 6.2 million, up from EGP 5.038 million expected in the current fiscal period. Revenue targets for the next fiscal year are set at EGP 192.3 million, slightly down from the projected EGP 198 million in the ongoing year. For the nine months ending March 2025, the company reported a net profit of EGP 564,280, compared to EGP 1.25 million during the same period in the prior fiscal year.
