FBI launches Tesla threats task force: ‘This is domestic terrorism’

The FBI announced the creation of a task force in collaboration with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to investigate attacks on Tesla properties. This follows the discovery of multiple incendiary devices at a Tesla showroom in Austin, Texas. These incidents are linked to CEO Elon Musk’s involvement with DOGE, or the Department of Government Efficiency, which aims to cut federal government spending and staffing.
FBI Director Kash Patel described the attacks as domestic terrorism and vowed to pursue those responsible. Tesla’s vice president of Environment, Health and Safety and Security, Laurie Shelby, has not yet commented on the company’s measures to protect its facilities. Musk referenced the vandalism during a recent event, calling those responsible “psycho.” — news from CNBC
