Fox Corp’s New Streaming Service, Fox One, Set to Launch Before NFL Season

Fox Corp. has announced its upcoming streaming service will be named Fox One. The service is aimed at cord-nevers—consumers who have never subscribed to traditional pay TV and likely never will. It will offer live and on-demand feeds from channels such as Fox, Fox News, Fox Weather, Fox Business, and FS1. The platform will feature a comprehensive lineup of sports, news, and entertainment programming, along with advanced personalization technology. Pricing details are yet to be determined, but the company plans to launch Fox One before the NFL season begins in the fall. CEO Lachlan Murdoch emphasized that the service would not undercut traditional pay TV bundles in pricing. Additionally, Fox One will pursue streaming bundles, some of which are already in development. Pete Distad, CEO of Fox One, stated that the platform was built to engage users with Fox content wherever they are, using cutting-edge technology to enhance the user experience. This announcement coincides with Fox’s latest quarterly earnings report, which was boosted by the broadcast of Super Bowl LIX earlier this year. Advertising revenue surged past $2 billion due to the game, and affiliate fees increased across both broadcast and cable. Total revenues reached $4.4 billion, with net income at $354 million.
