France’s Economic Growth Expected to Slow to 0.6% in 2025

While the eurozone is slowly emerging from stagnation, driven by a rebound in investment and despite shifts in global trade trends, France’s economy appears to be lagging behind its European counterparts, according to a report by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). Although France’s economic activity had held up relatively well in 2023 and 2024 compared to other European nations, its growth drivers are currently losing momentum. INSEE’s forecast is lower than the government’s projection of 0.7% growth. After a 0.1% increase in GDP in the first quarter, the institute predicts a 0.2% rise in each of the next three quarters.
