NEW DELHI, July 2 (KUNA) — Ambassadors from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries based in New Delhi convened a meeting chaired by Kuwait to explore avenues for deepening cooperation with India.
A statement issued by Kuwait’s Embassy in New Delhi on Wednesday indicated that the gathering, led by Kuwait as the current council head, focused on strategies to enhance and develop GCC-India relations across various sectors and at all levels.
During the session, the ambassadors exchanged Gulf visions and ideas aimed at supporting the advancement of joint Gulf initiatives.
The ambassadors addressed recent tensions in the region, strongly condemning and denouncing Iran’s attack on Qatar, which they described as a clear violation of international laws and principles of good neighborliness.
They reaffirmed the GCC countries’ unwavering support for Qatar and their full commitment to its security and stability.
The GCC ambassadors also expressed concerns regarding the potential exploitation of the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial waterway for navigation, global trade, and energy supply flows, in any regional or global disputes.
This meeting marks the second gathering of GCC ambassadors during Kuwait’s presidency of the council, aimed at exchanging views and aligning positions that serve the mutual interests of GCC countries and India.
