President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi highlighted a rising momentum in economic and commercial collaboration between Egypt and Turkey, underscoring the strength of bilateral ties. Speaking at the closing session of the Egyptian-Turkish Business Forum, attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, he described the meeting as strategically significant, reinforcing the weight of the partnership.
He emphasized that the gathering was not only about strengthening existing alliances but also about laying the foundation for a new phase defined by ambition and shared gains. Economic relations between the two countries are built on solid and practical foundations, supported by geographic and cultural proximity, economic complementarity, and strong political will from both governments and business communities.
Bilateral trade has reached around $9 billion, with aspirations to grow it further, positioning Egypt as Turkey’s leading trade partner in Africa. Turkish investments in Egypt have surpassed $4 billion, a milestone achieved through coordinated efforts between public institutions and private enterprises.
Earlier on Wednesday, President El-Sisi welcomed President Erdoğan at Al-Ittihadiya Palace, where a formal reception was held, including a 21-gun salute and the playing of national anthems. The two leaders reviewed the honor guard and held official talks on expanding cooperation across various sectors, as well as exchanging views on current regional and international issues.
They also chaired the second session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Egypt and Turkey, reaffirming their commitment to deepening coordination.
