Kearney and World Economic Forum Identify Key Priorities for Advanced Air Mobility Growth

LONDON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Kearney, in collaboration with the World Economic Forum, has released a report outlining the rapid advancement of advanced air mobility (AAM) and its potential to transform transportation and critical services. The AAM market is forecasted to reach nearly $80 billion by 2034, driven by applications such as infrastructure inspection, wildfire detection, and emergency response.

To ensure responsible growth, the AVIATE initiative has brought together over 40 organizations, including regulators, manufacturers, and operators, to develop solutions that prioritize safety, sustainability, and economic resilience. These principles aim to reduce risks, build public trust, and create long-term value.

The report emphasizes the importance of cross-sector collaboration, highlighting the need for aligned regulations, scalable business models, and infrastructure development. Insights from early drone projects, such as India’s Medicine from the Sky program, demonstrate the value of stakeholder engagement and community-focused benefits. These initiatives also reveal challenges like airspace integration and infrastructure needs, offering lessons for AAM’s broader implementation.

While larger AAM aircraft hold promise for healthcare, logistics, and urban mobility, significant hurdles remain, including high costs and regulatory complexities. Overcoming these barriers will require sustained investment and cooperation. Javier González of Kearney stressed the importance of prioritizing safety and societal benefits, while Arunima Sarkar of the World Economic Forum highlighted the role of multistakeholder collaboration in fostering inclusive progress.
