KUWAIT, June 17 (KUNA) — The Kuwaiti Cabinet has declared June 26 (Thursday) as a public holiday to mark the Islamic New Year (Hijri New Year). All ministries and state bodies will suspend work on that day and resume on June 29 (Sunday). The decision was made during the Cabinet’s weekly meeting, presided over by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. The Cabinet extended congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and the Kuwaiti people, wishing prosperity and blessings for Kuwait and the Arab and Muslim worlds.
