GENEVA, July 8 (KUNA) — The Kuwaiti Minister of State for Communications Affairs and Chairman of the Digital Cooperation Organization Council for the 2025 session, Omar Al-Omar, met with Kenya’s Minister of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy, William Kabogo Gitau, as well as Tanzania’s Minister for Information, Communication, and Information Technology, Jerry William Silaa. These discussions occurred at Kuwait’s Mission to the United Nations and International Organizations in Geneva, held on the margins of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).
The meetings focused on exploring avenues to strengthen collaboration, addressing shared interests, and enhancing coordination among member states of the Digital Cooperation Organization Council.
Kuwait took over the chairmanship of the Digital Cooperation Organization Council for 2025 from the Kingdom of Jordan earlier this year.
The Digital Cooperation Organization is a global multilateral body dedicated to promoting digital prosperity by advancing inclusive and sustainable growth within the worldwide digital economy.

Kuwait Communications Min. discusses coop. with Kenyan, Tanzanian counterparts
GENEVA, July 8 (KUNA) — Kuwaiti Minister of State for Communications Affairs and Chairman of the Digital Cooperation Organization Council for the current session 2025 Omar Al-Omar on Tuesday held meetings with Kenyan Minister of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy William Kabogo Gitau and Tanzanian Minister for Information, Communication and Information Technology Jerry William Silaa.
The meetings took place in the headquarters of the Kuwaiti Mission to the United Nations and International Organizations in Geneva, on the sidelines of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).
During the meetings, the ministers discussed ways of enhancing cooperation, subjects of common interest and reinforcing the efforts between member states of the Digital Cooperation Organization Council.
In February, Kuwait have assumed responsibility for the Digital Cooperation Organization Council for the year 2025 after the Kingdom of Jordan.
The Digital Cooperation Organization is a multilateral international organization that aims to enable digital prosperity for all by accelerating the inclusive and sustainable growth of the global digital economy. (end) amk.bb
