Multiple Teslas Set on Fire and Shot At in Las Vegas

In an early Tuesday morning incident, a suspect set multiple Teslas on fire, used Molotov cocktails, and fired three rounds into vehicles at a Tesla Collision Center in Las Vegas. The suspect remains at large, as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department. The suspect, dressed in all black, damaged at least five Teslas, with two engulfed in flames, and painted the word “resist” on the facility’s door. The collision center is located in the 6000 block of West Badura Avenue.
This targeted attack against a Tesla facility is also being investigated by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. While it’s too early to label the incident as an act of terrorism, it exhibits some hallmarks and suggests a potential political agenda, according to FBI Special Agent in Charge Spencer Evans. Tesla CEO Elon Musk condemned the violence as “insane and deeply wrong,” emphasizing that Tesla merely makes electric cars and has not provoked such attacks.
The incident follows a Cybertruck explosion outside the Trump International in Las Vegas on New Year’s Day, where Matthew Livelsberger shot himself seconds before the explosion, injuring seven bystanders. Authorities have not reported any notable increase in Tesla vandalism in the area. The public is urged to contact 702-828-7777 with any information. This is a developing story. — news from Las Vegas Review-Journal
