Recall alert: Martinelli’s apple juice may contain patulin toxin

Martinelli\’s is conducting a voluntary recall of its 10-ounce glass bottle apple juice due to potential contamination with patulin, a toxic substance produced by certain molds. The recall, initiated in March, was classified as a Class II recall by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on April 22. A Class II recall indicates that the product may cause temporary or reversible health issues, though the risk of severe consequences is considered low. Patulin contamination can lead to symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and potential DNA damage in some body cells. Approximately 7,234 cases of Martinelli\’s apple juice are affected, distributed across 28 states including California, Texas, and New York.
