Stephen Curry teams up with Michelle Obama to launch sports drink

Four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry has partnered with former first lady Michelle Obama to introduce a healthier sports drink called Plezi Hydration. Launched through Obama’s public benefit company Plezi Nutrition, the drink features no added sugar, artificial sweeteners, or excessive sodium, and provides a full daily dose of vitamin C. Curry, nearing the final years of his playing career, sees this venture as part of his growing off-court portfolio. The sports drink market is dominated by PepsiCo’s Gatorade, Coca-Cola’s Powerade, and BodyArmor. Plezi Hydration aims to differentiate itself through its health-focused ingredients and flavor options, including lemon lime, tropical punch, and orange mango twist. The drink will be available in select retailers in California and nationwide on Amazon. Michelle Obama co-founded Plezi Nutrition in 2023 to promote healthier lifestyles among children, continuing her advocacy from the “Let’s Move!” campaign during her time in the White House. — news from CNBC
