KUWAIT, July 2 (KUNA) —

1961 — The UN Security Council convened an emergency session regarding a complaint filed by Britain on behalf of Kuwait to address Iraqi allegations and claims against the country.
1997 — The inaugural edition of “Al-Dustour” weekly was released, serving as a parliamentary publication with Sheridah Al-Muousherji as Editor-in-Chief.
2000 — Kuwait and Saudi Arabia finalized the demarcation of their shared maritime borders, signing an agreement on the submerged area of the divided zone. The pact was signed by Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal.
2000 — Kuwait’s Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah awarded Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz the prestigious Mubarak Al-Kabeer Order, recognizing Saudi Arabia’s support for Kuwaiti causes. In return, Prince Abdullah, who also served as Deputy Prime Minister and Head of National Guards, honored Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad with the highest Saudi medal, the King Abdulaziz Order.
2004 — Sheikh Talal Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, head of Kuwait’s Bowling Federation, was elected President of the Asian Bowling Federation.
2018 — Kuwait’s Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah officially opened Al-Jahra Medical City, a KD-364-million facility comprising eight buildings with a total of 1,234 beds.
2020 — The Kuwaiti government decided to lift the full quarantine in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Mahboula areas effective July 9, while maintaining medical infrastructure in case of further spread of COVID-19.
2022 — Dr. Dalal Al-Taweel, assistant dean for student and academic affairs at Kuwait University’s Faculty of Pharmacology, was recognized by the International Pharmaceutical Federation as one of 20 emerging stars in pharmaceutical science and pharmacological education. (end) r nbs
