Uber CEO Stands Firm on Return-to-Office Policy Changes

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi has expressed his acceptance of employees leaving if they disagree with his new return-to-office (RTO) policies. These changes include requiring corporate employees to work in the office at least three days a week, asking remote workers to return to offices, and extending the years employees must work before receiving a paid sabbatical. In a CNBC interview, Khosrowshahi acknowledged that these changes might drive some employees away but noted the strong economy and job market provide opportunities elsewhere for Uber workers. He emphasized the importance of teamwork and learning within the company while offering flexibility to work from home two days a week. An Uber spokesperson clarified that these adjustments are not tied to layoffs or intended to increase attrition. The revised policy begins in June. This move aligns with broader trends among Big Tech companies revising employee benefits and structures.
