The Cliometric Society is a global organization dedicated to the quantitative study of economic history. n nLa Croix, affiliated with the UH Economic Research Organization and the Department of Economics in the College of Social Sciences, has published extensively on the economic history of Hawaiʻi and Australia, institutional change and property rights in the Asia-Pacific region, and public policy issues in Hawaiʻi. n n“I was really surprised and pleased to receive this honor,” La Croix said. “It helps to highlight the importance of in-depth research on former British and American colonies in the Asia-Pacific region and the need to understand the different journeys taken by Indigenous and immigrant populations over the last 200 years.” n nHe currently serves as associate editor of the Asia-Pacific Economic History Review and is president of the Economic History Society of Australia and New Zealand.
